Fantastic Guide! July 30, 2010 Stephen Schaefgen I recently visited the Minneapolis area for a vacation to see The Mall of America and wanted to golf a few rounds while I was there. I searched online and found The Hacker's Guide which I purchased from Amazon. Unlike large national and international magazines (such as Golf Magazine or Golf Digest) which offer very little for the average, higher handicapped golfer, The Hacker's Guide gave me just what I needed; accurate ratings of golf courses by golfers like myself, not professionals, and all information one would need to know on where to play including course amenities and hospitality. I found their rating system spot on and the next time I travel to Minnesota I can guarantee you The Hacker's Guide will be in my golf bag.
Great Guide for All Ages and Handicaps July 28, 2010 C. Simms Hacker's Guide is a one stop shop on everything you need to know to about local courses you love to play and those you have wanted to play. It is always a little tough playing a new course for the first time but with the Hacker's Guide, you know the right information before teeing off on Hole #1! Best golf investment you'll ever make, that will not only help your game, but make it more enjoyable!
Fantastic Book!! June 25, 2010 Dan Hopper (CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA, US) "Hacker's Guide" for Minnesota and Western Wisconsin is a fantastic resource for both hackers and lower handicappers alike.
This book contains anything and everything any golfer should know about most of the public golf courses in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, and some cool facts on the history of golf in Minnesota.
Are you a beginner looking for a good course to learn the game on but dont want to pay high green fees at a course you dont know much about only to find out its well above your skill level? Hacker's Guide eliminates the guess work involved in picking the right course to hone your skills on!!
Are you on a business trip and want to treat your hosts to a round of golf but you're afraid you might pick a course that's not very flattering? This book will help you choose the right one!!
And best of all, all the courses are played and the reviews written by AVERAGE golfers just like you and me! These guys have done the work for you. Now all you have to do is buy the book and start playing! It's about time someone catered a book to average golfers and these guys hit the nail on the head!! Buy it!
Must have! June 23, 2010 Timothy A. Goers (Madison, WI) The "Hacker's Guide to Minnesota & Western Wisconsin", is a great buy! My friends and I are always looking for new places to go out and explore. Before this book we relied on very scarce reviews on-line or from the over-exaggerated descriptions found on golf course websites. With this book there are pictures, and honest reviews from people who have been out on the course and tell you what it's like. The very direct and detailed information about different courses has people my friends and I truly enjoy many new courses. It has also lead us to recommend new courses to other friends and colleagues. The price, location, and reviewers reaction is a nice twist over anything we have bought or tired before. This is a refreshing take on golf course ratings. "Hacker's Guide" is very helpful versus other golf publications that only do "The Best" courses in each state. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to go out for a great round in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A must have for Hackers May 27, 2010 J. Meyer (Grand Forks, ND) I hate paying greens fees at courses I've nevr played and end up disappointed in the course. This doesn't happen anymore now that I have this great resource. Stop wasting money and being disappointed in new courses. Read about them here first!
